Controller Ilizarov apparatus

Mechatronic system correction and limb lengthening developed at the Technical University of Cracow in 2006 (Department of Mechatronics) consists of the following units: the executive, consisting of a linear actuator and microprocessor controller with power supply.

The system has been designed and programmed to allow multiple limb lengthening during the day.
It should be remembered that in a traditional apparatus Ilizarov lengthening takes place in cycles of 6-hour, or 4 times in 24 hours.
The new system dramatically increases the number of cycles. It is possible to program up to 48 cycles per day. This feature allows the system independently of the will of the patient (often neglecting systematic change apparatus settings) on a regular basis, multiple limb lengthening during the day. As a result, drastically reducing the possibility of the occurrence of pain (easier adaptation of the organism to small and frequent inflicted expansion) and therefore increases significantly the comfort of the treatment.
