The aim of the work was to create a converter that would ensure communication between the Vibra electronic scale and the LUMEL screen recorder.

For this purpose, the following was done:

• hardware converter of the RS-232 to RS-485 standard;
• software implementation of an ASCII format converter into a Modbus RTU-compatible protocol.

The electronic scale sends data in ASCII format (RS-232 standard) to the converter, and the converter further sends it to the recorder in a protocol compatible with Modbus RTU (RS-485 standard). The data sent from the scale to the recorder allows the weight to be read in the recorder with decimal accuracy.
